Hi, I'm rose71, and I'll be reccing Remus/Sirius this month. I keep toying with the idea of some kind of theme that will narrow down the huge and wonderful universe of R/S, but I can't stand to leave anything out. So, as a compromise, I'm going to do mini-themes.

This week's mini-theme: visiting Remus.

The home life of a werewolf—it’s not pretty. Poverty, prejudice, the daily struggle for survival. But when Sirius Black comes to visit, things can get pretty sexy… at least in this classic fic:

Why everyone should read this: If you’ve read anything by busaikko, you know that this will be beautifully written--full of sexual tension, First War angst, and unexpected touches of humor. But what I love most about this fic is its devastating feeling of reality. From the point of view of a very conflicted Sirius, busaikko gives us a painfully believable portrait of young Remus’s family home, including a father who’s sufferering from a magical form of senile dementia. The emotional depth of this family story increases the power of the wartime romance, in which Sirius is supposed to be spying on Remus but gets drawn in more deeply than he expects. Without giving away any more of the plot, I will say that the final scene is one of the most stunning moments I’ve read in any fic—it leaves us desperately hoping for an AU happy ending for these two.
